National Museum of Marine Corps
1775 Semper Fidelis Way Triangle, Virginia
This state-of-the-art facility honors, preserves and narrates America’s story through the eyes of U.S. Marines. Its magnificent architectural design features a dramatic 210-foot tilted steel mast and glass atrium inspired by the flag raisings at Iwo Jima, Inside, a massive “Leatherneck Gallery” and surrounding era galleries take visitors through the history of the Marine Corps, divided into “theaters” or chapters depicting pivotal conflicts and battles and other vital contributions to the preservation of America’s freedom.

Widewater State Park

On a peninsula where Aquia Creek and the Potomac River meet, Widewater provides access to both bodies of water. The park lies on non-contiguous parcels surrounded by private property. Two parcels are open for access. The park has a visitor center, picnic shelters, playgrounds, restrooms, canoe-kayak launches and a hiking trail.

Aquia Episcopal Church

Aquia Episcopal Church is the oldest active church in Stafford County. Established in 1667, the current church began construction in 1751, burned in 1754, and was rebuilt in 1757. The childhood church of George Mason, Aquia has witnessed its fair share of important history.
